An open letter to Republican leaders who are elected officials and those seeking office.

When is enough? Is there a line in the sand that Trump will lose your support? Sending military into our largest cities? Is this for the process of taking over this country to prepare for no more elections? Do you want to persuade people that cities are dangerous? Ruin the businesses that are thriving there?

Looks like that to me. Redecorating the White House to mirror “Mara Lago” and ignoring traditions? It is not the President’s House; it is the People’s House.

A very easy question. Where is the line because it continues to be pushed? Kidnapping people off the streets, run down on fields where they are working, women and children crying as they are the ones taken. Not criminals but willing to do work that is hard to find in this country. Talented and strong in what they do.

Where is the line? Tell me, what can happen where you finally say enough is enough. Do you want civil war? Are we at a place where people have decisions to make with who I will hide from an oppressive government? Will I have the courage to do what is right deep in my soul? Is this where we are going?

I am probably in a safe space. White, Anglo-Saxon, protestants are likely with me safe as are my children and grandchildren. But who really knows. If a group can come after one group, who is to say that things may flip.

What I know for sure. We are all connected. When some hurt, eventually others will hurt. God loves diversity. You only need to observe nature to know that. And every one of us is a beloved child of God. We are all equal in the eyes of God. Someday we will understand more why there is different suffering in this fallen world.

So back to my original question. In rooms of dedicated Republicans, is there a line in the sand where you say stop? There have been so many opportunities to turn the Republican party around and at every decision, they say no. The party of law and order has become the party leading us all away from a democratic form of government.

I’m hoping there is a line but have been questioning that lately.
